Kimberley Price Reid died gently at Decatur General Hospital on Monday morning, April 14, 2025. She was born in Atlanta on July 7, 1969 to the late Georgia Kay Moorhead Price and Julian Price, Jr. After graduating from Lakeside High School in Atlanta, she attended Georgia State University prior to moving to Perth, Western Australia in 1994. There, she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Edith Cowan University.
On April 18, 1998, in Perth, she married Mark Reid from New Zealand. They had four children, one of whom, Alexander Julian, died at age 19 months from a congenital heart defect. In 2007, Kimberley, Mark, and their three children moved to Decatur, Alabama where her father, Julian Price, had served as Mayor. In Decatur, Kimberley was active as the children attended the magnet programs in the Decatur City School System.
Kimberley was pre-deceased by her mother, Georgia Kay Bell, her son Alexander Julian, and her grandparents, Margaret and Julian Price, Sr. and Aileen Brim Moorhead. She is survived by her father, Julian Price, Jr. (Dr. Lane M. Price), her husband, Mark Reid, and by her sons, Matthew Reid of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Zachariah Reid and Georgia Margaret Grace Reid, both of Decatur, Alabama, her brother, Julian R. H. Price III (Anne) of Decatur, and sisters, Ashley Bell Wyatt (Dylan) of Newnan, Georgia, and Margaret Lane Price of Madison, Alabama.
Kimberley was of the Episcopal faith.
Funeral services will be held graveside in Newnan, Georgia at a date to be determined.
