Killen….Founder’s Day …Come Celebrate

The 54th anniversary of the town of Killen will begin this Friday, August 24, 2012 with a

parade downtown at 6pm.  The opening ceremonies will be at 7:30pm following the parade in the Killen Amphitheatre with music to follow.

 

Saturday plan to be at Killen Park for arts and crafts, plenty of food, live music.. There will be a 5k run and a fishing Tournament as well.   There will be a working colonial village with Native American demonstrations and to end the weekend of fun and celebration there will be fireworks in Killen Park at 9:30pm.

6pm Parade through Downtown Killen

7:30pm- Opening Ceremonies

Killen Park Amphitheatre

8pm Music – Amphitheatre in Killen Park

 

Saturday, August 25

6am Fishing Tournament – Lock Six Boat Ramp

7am 5K Run – Killen United Methodist Church

8am Car Show – Brooks High School

10am Rook Tournament – Shelter #2 in Killen Park

10am Softball Tournament – Field #2 – Killen Park

11amWatermelon Seed Spitting Contest – Killen Park

12pm Domino Tournament – Shelter #2 in Killen Park

12pm – 8pm LifeSouth Blood Mobile – Killen Park

12pm Dulcimers – Amphitheatre in Killen Park

1pm Singles Horseshoe Tournament – Killen Park

2pm UNO Tournament for ages 8 to 18 –

Shelter #2 – Killen Park

2-5pm Music – Amphitheatre in Killen Park

2:30pm Doubles Horseshoe Tournament – Killen Park

5pm Belk Fashion Show – Amphitheatre in Killen Park

5:30–9:30pm Music – Amphitheatre in Killen Park

9:30pm Fireworks – Killen Park

 

There will also be Arts & Crafts, Food Vendors, Kid’s

Rides, Antique Tractors and a whole lot of fun!
