KiCha Garling, age 65, of Huntsville Alabama, passed away on the 16th of June 20I5 after a courageous and long battle with cancer. She is the beloved wife of Wilbur Lee Garling of Huntsville. KiCha was born in Seoul, South Korea on October 1, 1949 and immigrated to the United States in 1974. She is the daughter of the late Prk Chun Soe and Sai IM. KiCha graciously fought for every step in life, surviving many childhood events including the Korean War, the death of her father in her preteen years and smallpox. During her final years she was able to travel to the one location she always wanted to visit and witness the birth of 2 more beautiful granddaughters. In her adulthood, her endeavor for happiness continued, working in many countries as a military spouse, and persevering to cement a legacy with 4 wonderful grandchildren. She so loved to care for her family in every way she could conceive. The few activities she most enjoyed was cooking for her family and spending precious time with her grandchildren – feeding, bathing and loving everyone she held close, unconditionally. Her desire for a private life limited her friendships to only those who won her trust; however, her family was held first in her heart. She is survived by her husband, 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Her surviving children are Paul Taylor of Los Angeles, California, Maryann Bass of Carlsbad, California, and Patricia Merriman of Huntsville, Alabama. Each of her children has graced the family with beautiful children of their own: Simone Talyor, Blaise Taylor, Roark Bass, and Abigail Merriman. At KiCha’ s request, the funeral ceremony will be a private event for the immediate family and her closest friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer. org/index. or by phone at 1-800-227-2345, or by mail to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
