Key Underwood Coon Dog Cemetery Labor Day Celebration

FREEDOM HILLS-In a small, grassy meadow, deep in the rich, thick wilderness of Freedom Hills, Key Underwood sadly buried his faithful coondog, Troop on a dreary Labor Day. That was in 1937 and each Labor Day, the Friends of the Coon Dog Cemetery host a celebration at the cemetery to celebrate Troop and all the other coon dogs buried here. Entertainment includes music, dancing, food and a liar’s contest.

This year was no different …. the weather was perfect and the BBQ was excellent and folks were dancing and enjoying the freah air in the great outdoors.
