With heartfelt sadness, the family of Kevin O’Neal Shaver, age 44, announces the passing of their beloved son, father, brother, and friend. A lifelong resident of the Brocks Chapel community in Marshall County, Alabama, Kevin passed away peacefully at his residence on the evening of Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Kevin was the son of Henry O’Neal Shaver and Rosa Marie Abernathy Shaver. He worked as a lineman with Arab Electric Cooperative and was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
Kevin enjoyed being around people, and his family was always closest to his heart. Known for his playful spirit, teasing nature, and love of a good prank, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. He cared deeply for his family, his work, and his co-workers at Arab Electric Cooperative.
A true outdoorsman, Kevin could often be found deer hunting in the woods, fishing on the river, or playing softball with bat and glove in hand. He was highly competitive and always strived to do his best, while remaining cooperative, good-spirited, and committed to having fun.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Neal and Rosa Shaver; his son, Jacob Shaver (Kylie Lake); his brother, Kenneth Green (Lisa); his grandmother, Earlene Shaver; and a host of aunts, uncles, and extended family.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Stacy White and Arab Electric Cooperative for their support and help during this difficult time.
Services for Kevin will be held Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. Brother Josh Garmany will officiate. The family has chosen to honor Kevin’s wishes for cremation following the services. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
