Kevin James Bratton, 56, resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center-South, in Montgomery Alabama.

Funeral Services honoring Mr. Kevin’s life will be at 1 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church with visitation from 11 AM until Service Time. Bro. Doug Rakestraw will be officiating, and burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Kevin was born July 25, 1967, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Melba Ruth Rakestraw Bratton. He received his education from Ingomar High School until the 11th grade, before graduating from W. P. Daniels in 1986. After graduation, Mr. Kevin proudly served his country in the United Sates Army Reserves and was a loyal employee in the maintenance department with Morris Scrap Metal and Hyundai in Montgomery for thirty-three years before his retirement.

A Christan and member of Liberty Baptist Church, Mr. Kevin blossomed in everything he did. He was very smart, even at a young age, always having A’s and B’s on his report card. With the ability to do anything, Mr. Kevin’s favorite pastimes included being outdoors, while wood working, hunting, or in a boat fishing, using the green thumb, he was blessed with to grow an immaculate garden every year, and grilling and cooking, especially his families secret famous cornbread. From the tricks he would pull and the jokes he would tell, to always offering a helping hand or sharing what he had with others, Mr. Kevin was a true friend, whose outgoing personality, friendly smile, and big heart will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memories include four brothers, Johnny Powell (Nancy), Charles Powell (Ann), Mark Powell (Lousie), and David Bratton (Paula), four nephews, Neal, Brian, Jason, and James Powell, and a large host of friends.

He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Arnold and Bessie Mae Rakestraw, and an uncle, Hansel Rakestraw.

New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Bratton family.
