Born December 23, 1931 in Walnut, MS., Duane passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Corinth, MS. Duane Gunn was a loving husband and father of three children. He was also an entrepreneur and owned several businesses in his lifetime. However, what he is known for most is his pharmacy, Wilson Drug Co, located for years on Fillmore St. in downtown Corinth, Mississippi. Duane married Nancy Ruth Blaylock, from Big Creek, Mississippi and went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi Pharmacy School. Afterward, they promptly moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, to start his job as a pharmacist. However, his father soon called his son to let him know that there was a pharmacy named “Wilson Drug Company” coming up for sale in Corinth. It worked out well that Duane and Nancy could own a business so close to family and they made Corinth their home. Duane and Nancy raised three children and were very committed to their community in many ways. He always maintained a cattle farm, too. Duane was a business leader. While the Wilson Drug Company thrived, they were very involved in First Baptist Church of Corinth where Duane served as Deacon for many years and a Sunday School teacher. Also, when the Chamber of Commerce was established, Duane was its first President. He enjoyed membership in the Civitan Club of Corinth and served in many capacities including President of that organization as well.
Duane is survived by his wife, Nancy Gunn of Corinth; sons, Ken Gunn (Sandy) and Mike Gunn (Paula) all of Corinth; daughter, Pricilla Kasten (Mike) of Cape Girardeau, MO; 5 grandchildren, Trey Gunn (Catie), Michelle Ramirez (Ben), Cliff Gunn (Sarah), Caroline Kasten and Drew Anna Kasten; 5 great grandchildren, Ana Ramirez, Christian Ramirez, Jackson Gunn, Taylor Gunn and Olivia Gunn; other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Gunn; mother, Hazel Gunn and sister, Kathryn Jeanell Meeks.

Pallbearers will be Trey Gunn, Cliff Gunn, Mike Kasten, Christian Ramirez, Ben Ramirez and James Isbell, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church Corinth.
