Private memorial services for 74-year-old Kent Whitaker will be held at a later date. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include wife of 20 years, Kathy Holland Whitaker, Cadiz, Kentucky; daughter, Elizabeth Anne “Liz Anne” Whitaker, Hopkinsville, Kentucky; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Whitney and Josh Gray, Cadiz, Kentucky; niece, Cara and Jim Gough, Florence; mother-in-law, Margaret Holland, Cadiz, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Holly Sutton, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Billy Over, Ethan Over, and Olivia Over, Cadiz, Kentucky, Kelsie Whitaker and Matthew Whitaker, Huntington, West Virginia; and two stepgrandchildren. Landen and Addison Gray, Cadiz, Kentucky.
Kent Whitaker was born in Tuscumbia on Feb. 7, 1941.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison T. and Mildred Anne Kent Whitaker, a son, John Curtis Whitaker, and sister, Harriet Anne Hardwick.
Kent Whitaker died Thursday evening, May 14, 2015, at his home.
He was a doctor of virology for the Murray State Breathitt Veterinary Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
