Kenneth Wade Horton, Jr.,
Sep. 29, 1973-Aprril 30, 2015, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015. Wade was born and raised in Florence, Alabama, graduated from Bradshaw High School (1992), the University of Alabama (1996), and the University of North Alabama (1997). Wade was a beloved husband, father, son, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Fred Birdsong Jr., and his grandparents, Catherine Davis Horton and Raymond Horton.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Kathryn “Kati” Birdsong Horton; his loving children, Jack and Grace Horton; his parents, Pamela and Kenneth Horton Sr.; brother, Chris Horton; grandmother, Eris Thornton; mother-in-law, Karen Jones Birdsong; two special aunts, Kathryn Sherrill and Louise Evans; brother-in-law, Ben Birdsong (Monica); niece Thalia Birdsong; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama today at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at Prince of Peace one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the scholarship funds at Prince of Peace Catholic School or John Carroll Catholic High School.
