Kenneth Rayburn Duncan, 82, passed away April 18, 2025, at Pontotoc Health and Rehab. Kenneth was born on January 22, 1943, in the Hurricane Community to Leroy “Pete” and Eura Faye Waits Duncan. He was a 1961 graduate of Hurricane High School, where he played basketball and baseball during his high school days, known by “Lefty.” He married Elizabeth Moore of Houlka on May 3, 1975. He spent his early years farming and had worked in the furniture industry until his retirement in 2008. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Ole Miss Rebels. He attended the sporting events of his children and caused grief to many referees and umpires over the years. He loved gardening, mowing his yard, and his family, but he was extremely proud of his grandchildren the most.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Moore Duncan (would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on 5/3/25), his daughters, Cathy Barton (Lebron) of Pontotoc, and Kelly Fleming (John) of Houlka, his son, Cody Duncan (Lindsay) of Houston, grandchildren, Jeremy White (Kelli), Kacie White, Hannah Brasher, Jade Barton, Noah Fleming, Jonah Fleming, Kaine Duncan, Deacon Duncan, Ryleigh Stone, and Natalie Stone, great-grandchildren, Easton, Eden, and Emmi White, sister, Peggy Duncan Smith of Oxford, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Patricia Duncan, brothers, Charles and Robert Duncan, and his in-laws, John Moore and Pauline Moore Young.
Services will be Tuesday, April 22 at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Bobby Caples officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 21 5-8PM and Tuesday, April 22 12 noon until service time. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Easton White, Noah and Jonah Fleming, Kaine, Deacon, and Kris Duncan, and Scotty Kisor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Smith, Mike and Kevin Duncan, Burt Easley, and Steve Hamblin.
