Kenneth Neal Westmoreland, age 79, passed away on April 27, 2026. He was born on December 10, 1946.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Goree; his father, Calvin Westmoreland; and his daughter, Sonia Westmoreland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Holland Westmoreland; his sister, Glenda McCracken; his daughter, Lesley Smothers; and his son, Ken Westmoreland (Niki). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jordan Holmes (Bryan), Sage Smothers, Rylan Smothers, Kenlee Smothers, Cole Westmoreland, Olivia Carr, Cannon Westmoreland, Nash Westmoreland, and Sawyer Westmoreland; and one great-grandchild, Reese Holmes.
Kenneth was a proud Vietnam Veteran and dedicated 46 years of service to 3M, where he built a long and respected career. He had a deep love for sports—especially baseball, softball, and basketball—and was a talented athlete in all areas. Over the years, he shared that passion with others by spending many years coaching and umpiring, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those he mentored.
Visitation will be held on May 2, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home in Decatur.
Kenneth will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, his love of sports, and his strong work ethic.
