Funeral service for Kenneth Neal Hamilton, age 72, of Decatur will be today, June 27, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Smith and Ricky McWhorter officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Hamilton, who died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born July 27, 1941, in Lawrence County to Thomas Neal Hamilton and Virginia Gay Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was the owner of Ken Hamilton Realty and was retired from Monsanto.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Mitchell Hamilton; one son, Kenneth Neal Hamilton II (Wendy) of Decatur; one daughter, Meg Hamilton Hill (Jason) of Decatur; two sisters, Rebecca Arnold of Trinity and Barbara Moss of Decatur; and four grandchildren, Slaten Hamilton, Taylor Hamilton, Maggie Grace Hill and Natalie Hill.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Black, John Elliott, Mitchell Sims, Sam Mathis, Michael McCullough and Jimmy Moss.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Lindley, Granville Graves, Gary Hill, Dexter Gay and Bill Pettey.
