Kenneth Max Jones of Townley, Alabama came into this world on July 20, 1946 and was called to his Heavenly home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2020. He was 74.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Wright Cemetery. David Hood will officiate.

He will once again be reunited with his loving parents, grandparents and beloved granddaughter, Julia Jones, along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Loretta Schrum Jones; his children, son, Kenneth Dale Jones (Michelle) of Holly Pond, Alabama; son, Nelson Edward Davenport; son, Harrison Clyde Schrum; and daughter, Gladys Lynn Jones all of Townley, Alabama. His brother Wyman Wayne Jones (Robbie) of Jasper, Alabama; and his two granddaughters Christina Lynn Crawley (Monroe) and Tessa Ann Jones of Holly Pond, Alabama. Along with nieces, great nieces and a host of cousins.

He was a lifelong resident of the Townley Community. A true American Hero, in every sense of the word, serving his country in the US Navy. He was an amazing dad to his children, and a proud Papa of his 2 granddaughters. He was a true friend to many both young and old alike always willing to lend a hand and help or teach you how when you called on him no matter what he was doing. For many he became a foster parent, giving them a safe, warm place to stay, food in their tummy , and an adult to listen and help guide them without judgment. Lovingly known to everyone as “Uncle Max”.
