Kenneth Maples – Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Maples, age 70 of Mercer, departed this life Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County Genral Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Mercer, he was born September 19, 1941 to the late John Charlie and Wilma Ann Byrum Maples. He was united in marriage to his wife Barbara, who survives, August 2, 1963 and worked as a farmer.

Mr. Maples ministered to an Alcoholics Anonymous group for over 30 years and was an avid mini tractor racer and fisherman. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Patty Young (Von) of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Maples of Finger; two brothers, Clarence and Charles Maples, both of Mercer; a sister, Marilyn Fleet of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Anthony Young, Aaron Young, Summer Maples and Hunter Maples.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tommy Maples; a sister, Johnnie Mayfield; and a brother, Harry Maples.
