Kenneth Lavern “Vern” Norton, 79, of Huntsville, died quietly on September 08, 2020, at home with his loving family by his side.

He was born December 04, 1940 to Edward A. Norton and Mildred T. Norton of Huntsville. Besides his parents Vern was presided in death by his brother, William Norton.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Sherry Gray Norton; son, Jeffrey “Jeff” Norton (Cheryl); daughter, Alison Norton Cope (Mark); brother, Bobby Norton; sister, Nadene Hill; four grandchildren, the most precious loved people in his life: Sarah Jolene Norton, Haley Grayce Cope, Caleb Wayne Cope, and Kendall Elizabeth Cope.

Vern was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1959. He loved woodworking in his shop. He worked for Lanza Cigar & Candy Co. for 26 years and Coca Cola’s Ready To Serve division for 19 years, he retired in 2005.

The family would like to express their total thanks and appreciation to Compassus Home Hospice Service.

A visitation will be held Thursday September 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Norton, Mark Cope, Caleb Cope, Greg Gray, Daniel Smith & Danny Duke. HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Bobby Norton and Terry Roberson.
