Kenneth L. Fountain, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and our Mr. K, passed away on May 12, 2025 at the age of 63.  A man of deep integrity, boundless generosity, and unwavering kindness, he lived a reflection of Christ. He touched countless lives through his lifelong dedication to teaching, his adventurous spirit, and his steadfast love for his family and community.

Born on August 25, 1961, in New Orleans, LA, Kenneth lived a full, purposeful life. As a teacher, he didn’t just educate—he uplifted, empowered, and ministered. Every student who walked into his classroom became one of “his” kids, and he treated each one with the same love and care. His legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of the many young people he taught, mentored, and inspired over the years.

Family was at the heart of everything he did. He adored his children and grandchildren, finding joy in every moment spent with them—whether on a grand adventure or a quiet afternoon. He was always planning the next family time, the next surprise, the next meticulously crafted piece of furniture: the next way to bring joy to those around him.

His life was a testament to service and love. He was always working—not for recognition, but out of a deep and genuine desire to help others and serve God. Whether lending a hand, offering wise advice, praying, or simply showing up, he gave his all to those he loved.

Kenneth leaves behind a legacy rooted in faith, love, and service. His warmth, laughter, and tireless spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We rejoice in knowing that he rests in the presence of his Savior.  “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Gina Fountain; his children, Nathan Fountain, Ali and Spenser Smith, and Tiffany and Derek Mikkola; his grandchildren, Camden and Bryson Fountain, Everett Smith, and Harley and Quinn Mikkola; his parents, Wesley and Loretta Fountain, and Ned and Donna DeLand; and his brother, Daniel and Wendy Fountain. He is treasured by many extended family members, dear friends, and former students who loved him dearly.

Mr. K, Bompaw, Grandpa K, Daddy, Ken – love you every second.
