Kenneth Howard Crane, 74, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Friday, November 25, 2016, in Madison, Alabama. He was born March 10, 1942 to Howard and Jewell (Goggans) Crane in Longview, Mississippi. On January 28, 1965, he married the love of his life, Eleanor Stoddard, in Bellefontaine, Mississippi.
Ken is survived by his wife Eleanor Crane of 51 years; his daughters Rhonda Daniel (Leslie) and Pamela Rigsby (Phillip); grandchildren James (Elizabeth) and Nathan Daniel, Preston and Parker Rigsby; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Dwight Crane; and sisters June (Michael) Robertson and Jacque McNair.
Ken loved his wife and family, his work, and serving the Lord. His goal in life was to glorify God in all that he said and did. He devoted most of his life to sharing the gospel with everyone he encountered. He served as a youth minister, Deacon, and Sunday school teacher for over 50 years.
He also loved the community in which he lived. He loved to take visitors around the city and share with them unique stories and the history of the area. He served on numerous civic committees such as the committee to establish theflood plain plan, chaired Huntsville City Schools Superintendent search that hired Mary Jane Caylor, and the Huntsville City Zoning Board.
The celebration services for a life well lived will be held at Sherwood Baptist Church on Tuesday with visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family. In leiu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sherwood Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. 2 Timothy 4:7 โI have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.โ (ESV)

Ken was truly a good man. I enjoyed our interactions at NASA. Ken and his family are in my prayers.
Ken was a very inspiring man. He was truly devoted to his tasks at NASA. He will be greatly missed by the NASA community. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Ken was truly an inspiring man who loved God! I enjoyed working with him at NASA. He will be truly missed by everyone he came in contact with but especially the NASA community. I will continue to pray for his family.
Ken accomplished a lot, both at work with NASA and in his church and community. I am extremely blessed to have called him a co-worker, mentor and friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.
