Kenneth Dale “Kenny” Vaughn, 45, of Piedmont, Alabama, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.
Kenny was a longtime resident of Piedmont and spent most of his life working as a concrete finisher. He was a hardworking man who took pride in his trade and the work he did. Kenny will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for the life he lived, the memories he made, and the many people whose lives he touched along the way.
Kenny is survived by his mother, Gail Hollingsworth of Piedmont; two sons, Mayson Vaughn of Piedmont and Clay Vaughn of Walhalla, South Carolina; two daughters, Jaycee Owen of Piedmont and Kayley Moore of Walhalla, South Carolina; one brother, Greg McGowen Brittany of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; three nephews, Jaxon Dale Turner, Matthew Murphy, and Mason Murphy; and one niece, Alexis Turner, all of South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
He is also survived by his longtime partner, Amanda Volz, and her daughter, Dakota Hughes, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale McGowan; his stepfather, Tom Hollingsworth; his grandparents, Clifford and Gladys Vaughn; and his grandmother, Ollie McGowan.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Zach Winn, Mitchell Franklin, Tony Wood, Jameason Ogles, and Rylan Franklin.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
Kenny’s years as a concrete finisher were more than simply a way to make a living—they were part of who he was. His work required strength, patience, and a willingness to work hard, qualities that those closest to him knew well. Though his life ended far too soon, the work of his hands, the stories shared about him, and the memories made with family and friends will remain.
