Keith Smith of Toney, Alabama, passed away on Friday evening. He was 74.
Keith was a truck driver by trade and was known for his strong opinions and his love of a good debate. Stubborn by nature, he never hesitated to speak his mind, but was a man with a generous heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and his kindness left a lasting impression on many. Keith was a devoted father, and throughout his life, countless people came to think of him as a father figure. He will be remembered with love by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Lynn Savage Smith; his parents, Louise Mae Smith and John Nathan Smith; his brothers, John “Sonny” Smith, Robert Smith, and Bobby Smith; and his sister, Mildred Faye Bolin.
Surviving family members include his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Cassie Smith; his daughter and son-in-law, Delilah and Josh Reyer; his son, Robert Smith; his grandchildren, Lucas Smith, Ava Smith, Paisley Reyer, and Clay Reyer; his sisters, Pauline Brummett, Wanda Goolsby, and Nancy Hall; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Smith; along with many other extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
The family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 28, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at 26199 Miller Lane, Elkmont, Alabama 35620. Friends are invited to come, share memories, and stay as long as they wish.
A private burial will be held at New Sharon Cemetery.
