Keith Dixon – Obituary

Mr. Keith Dixon, age 55, husband of Teresa Carpenter Dixon and resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with BJ Bolton officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 16, 1962 in Columbia, Keith was the son of the late Joe Dixon and the late Linda Dunavant Dixon. He worked seventeen years in environmental services at Maury Regional Medical Center. Keith was an outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, fishing, farming, and doing yard work. He loved children, and coached little league baseball for several years. Keith loved his family, but especially loved his great nieces and great nephews. He attended Grace Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother: Ronnie Dixon of Columbia; sisters: Valerie Dixon of Columbia, Melanie (Gene) Fields of Columbia; father-in-law: James Carpenter of Columbia; brother-in-law: Terry (Annette) Carpenter of Columbia; sister-in-law: Tammy (Dwayne) Grooms of Rainbow City, AL; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Margaret Carpenter; and grandparents: Buford Dunavant and Coleah Henson.

Pallbearers will be: Roger Oliver, Dwayne Grooms, Terry Carpenter, DJ Grooms, Brooks Robinson, and Chris Fields.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Shane Lancaster, Jim Boshers, Tony Wilt, Eric Murphy, Karly Lancaster, Wyatt Lancaster, Madelyn Lancaster, Tanner Fields, Easton Grooms, Enzlie Grooms, Kade Robinson, Hank Murphy, Lucas Brumfield, Rylee Black, and Kenny Carpenter.
