Keith Alden Burkhardt, was born on July 11, 1947 and passed away at Cullman Regional Hospital on Friday, July 3 after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Burkhardt and Marion (French) Burkhardt and brother-in-law Raymond Potts.   He is survived by his sister, Carol Potts, Eva, AL and brothers, Brian E. Burkhardt and Craig Burkhardt (Dayle) both from New York State and daughter, Laura Kindred from Maine. He is also survived by nieces, Beth Lambert (Eugene), Decatur, AL and Leah Acevedo (Vinnie) from New York State, and nephews Scott Lucas, Hanceville, AL; Brian J. Burkhardt (Georgia); and Christopher Burkhardt (Melinda) from New York State.

As a young man he got into boxing.  He joined the Army in 1965 but received a medical discharge. For many years, he raised Arabian Horses but his true passion was fly fishing. In his lifetime, he worked for the New York State Bridge Authority, Adolph’s Hotel, a cabinet maker and a house painter, all in New York State.
