Keiko “Kay” Sumiyoshi Phillips, age 91, of Madison, Al passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her residence with her family around her. Mrs. Phillips was born in Otaru, Hokkaido Japan to Tusnesaku and Kie Sumiyoshi. She worked as an interpreter in Japan for a U. S. Army General. This General introduced her to her husband Bracy C. Phillips. The General gave her away gave her away on her wedding day in Japan. She had been married to Bracy 68 ½ years. Mrs. Phillips worked for and retired from SCI.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tusneasaku and Kie Sumiyoshi. She is survived by her husband of 68 ½ years Bracy C. Phillips; sons Eddy W. Phillips, Floyd A. Phillips and Jeffrey C. Phillips; grandchildren Jessie Kay Scott, Matthew Phillips and Stephanie Phillips and five great-grandchildren.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home from 3 to 5 pm
