Kaye McCabe, “Nena”, age 86, of Killen departed this world for her eternal home on Thursday, November 6, 2014. She was a native of Tuscaloosa County, AL and had resided in Lauderdale County for the past forty-six years. She was a member of Killen United Methodist Church. She had served as a Bookkeeper at Brooks High School and Allen Thornton Vocational School. Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 1:00 P.M. at Killen United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Mrs. McCabe’s life will follow at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Killen Cemetery. Bro. Rod Stansky and Bro. Brian McEntire will be officiating at the service. Pallbearers will be Jason Powell, Trevor, Lucas, and Logan Ford, Milton Mitchell and Lee Butler Mrs. McCabe was preceded in death by her husband, John W. McCabe; parents, Homer and Rossie Montgomery; one sister & three brothers; son-in-law: Maj. Ron Powell, USMC. She is survived by her daughters: Sherry McCabe Powell and Patti McCabe Brother: Homer M. Montgomery, Jr. Brother-in-Law: Neil McCabe (Pat) Sister-in-Law: Bessie McCabe Two Grandchildren: Kayla Powell and Jason Powell (Codi) Six Great-Grandchildren: Lauryn, Trevor, Lucas and Logan Ford, Delaney and Mac Powell Several Nieces and Nephews Mrs. McCabe was a woman of strong Christian faith. Her love of God and her family meant everything to her. She was everybody’s “Nena” and was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity or memorial fund.
