Kay Myrl Terry, 76, of Riverside Assisted Living died January 2, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born August 19, 1937, in Courtland to Clifton Thomas “Click” Coffey and Sadie Thompson Coffey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Edward Terry; and brother, Dwight Coffey.
Mrs. Terry is survived by her son, Charles D. Terry (Betty) of Athens; grandson, Clay Terry (Lindsay) of Decatur; granddaughter, Allyson Terry of Decatur; great-grandson, Kayson Terry; brothers, Marlin “Bud” Coffey (Anita) of Decatur and Bobby Coffey of Illinois; brother-in-law, Philip Terry (Jane) of Decatur; several nieces and nephews, and numerous family and friends.
Kay was a dental hygienist, having started working for Dr. Eugene Chenault while in high school. After completing her training in Birmingham, she continued to work for Dr. Chenault and several other local dentists until retirement in 2008. Kay will now be able to clean teeth in Heaven.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Riverside Senior Living, Decatur Home Care, Dr. Charles Prickett, Dr. Steve Chandler and the nursing staff of the CCU at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Funeral service will be Saturday, January 4, 2014, at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon prior to the funeral.
