Kay Frances Morris Stephenson of Sheffield died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Keller Hospital after a brief battle with pneumonia. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 11:00-1:00 at Tuscumbia Church of Christ. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church with graveside services to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia. Bob Plunkett and Jeff Abrams will officiate.
Mrs. Stephenson was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She was a lifetime member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ. She was married to Jack V. Stephenson for 55 years who preceded her in death on December 31, 2011. Their wonderful marriage produced two children and six grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Stephenson Smith and husband, Scott Smith; their children, Benton and wife Lindsey, Jacob, Matthew and Kathryn; son, Blake Stephenson and wife, Deanna Hayes Stephenson and their son, Chandler Stephenson; sister Lisabeth Morris Foster and her husband, Ralph Foster; brother, James “Sonny” Morris and his wife, Jody Morris.
Pallbearers are Robin Stephenson, David Mitchell, Jr., Leslie Mitchell, Benton Smith, Jacob Smith, Matthew Smith and Chandler Stephenson. Honorary pallbearers are James “Sonny” Morris, Ralph Foster and William L. Stephenson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jack and Kay Stephenson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Mars Hill Bible School or Tuscumbia Church of Christ.
