Katie Land, 83 years old, from Meridianville, AL passed away Tuesday, July 6th. She was born in Elizabeth Town, KY.
Katie was loved by many people. She met her husband, Clifford, in Huntsville, AL working at Huntsville Memory Gardens, which her sister and father in law owned at the time. Clifford was a salesman and Katie was their secretary. They married in Huntsville in 1955.
Katie and Clifford became charter members of Lakewood United Methodist Church (for 64 years), where she was a devoted Sunday School teacher. She was on the finance board, she belonged to the “Circle Committee”.
Preceded in her death is her husband, Clifford Land; mom, Louise Frizzell; her dad, James Frizzell; her brother, David Frizzell; and her sister, Ella Gardner.
She is survived by her 3 children, Kenny Land (Donna), Sondra L. Jackson (Vic), and Bobby Land (Monica); 3 grandchildren, Brian Land (Wendy), Briana Hall (Jacob), and Brandon Land; and 2 great grandchildren, Noah Cohen and Maverick Hall.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A chapel service will follow directly afterwards at 2 p.m. with Pastor Kim Teehan officiating. Burial will take place at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
