Funeral services for Mrs. Katie Dell Curlee Gravette, age 96, of Ashland will be held Wednesday February 26, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Marc Curlee and Reverend Ben Curlee officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Gravette passed away Saturday February 22, 2020 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. She was born in Clay County but had lived for several years in Theodore, Al. before returning to Clay County in the late 90’s. Mrs. Gravette enjoyed taking care of her home, sewing, and working in her yard and with her flowers.
She is survived by her sister; Ailene Foster (Pete) of Bridgeport, 17 nieces and nephews, 32 great-nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews and large extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents; Jesse Thomas Curlee and Ada Mae Carpenter Curlee, her husband; Mallory Gravette, her sister; Sara Sparks, and four brothers; Jesse Curlee Jr. James Curlee, Charles Curlee, and John P. Curlee.
Pallbearers will be: David Curlee, Randy Sparks, Scott Sparks, Mike Foster, Keith Foster, Alan Curlee, Charles Elliott, David Proctor, Jim Dickinson, and Ronnie Simpkins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday February 26, 2020 from 9:30 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland.
