Kathy Jane (Hill) Holmes, age 77, of Hartselle, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026.
Kathy was born on June 3, 1949, in Hartselle, Alabama, to Prentis “P.C.” Hill and Geraldine Powell Hill.
Kathy loved making people laugh and smile. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and brought joy to everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Although we mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is now with the Lord in Heaven, free from pain and suffering. That is worth celebrating.
Kathy is survived by her sister, Joann (Hill) Henry and her husband, Hugh Henry; her sons, Jeff Holmes and his partner, Amanda Putman McBay, and Jason Holmes and his wife, Amber Delean Holmes; her grandchildren, Seth Holmes and Cheyenne Peeks, Hayden Barbee and Casey Hughes, and Jaida Villagomez and her husband, Damion Villagomez; and her great-grandchildren, Fischer Barbee, Skyelynn Villagomez, Zayelyn Villagomez, Camden Wright, and Chloeann Holmes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Prentis “P.C.” Hill and Geraldine Powell Hill.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow the service at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hartselle.
