Ms. Kathy Bartholomew, age 71, passed away late Thursday at her home in Lexington. She was born January 7, 1952 in Chicago, IL to the late Albert Greenway and Katherine Harris Greenway Elkins. She was a retired teacher for Southaven Elementary School and had a passion for teaching. She loved kids and animals and enjoyed reading and traveling. She was a member of Middlefork Baptist Church, where she served as church pianist for years. She was an exceptional pianist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. David Bartholomew. Survivors include her son, Kevin Bartholomew (Britney); her daughter, Susan Metheny (Tommy); her brother, Danny Greenway (Pam); her six grandchildren, Christopher Friend, Dyana Metheny, Meghan Metheny, Jacob Hanna, Harper Bartholomew, and Maddox Bartholomew; and her sister-in-law, Linda Bartholomew.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Monday, September 18, 2023 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 3-7 PM, on Sunday, 2-6 PM, and on Monday, 11 AM until time of service at 2 PM.
