Kathleen Jewel Goodin Carr, 92, of Athens, passed away Monday, June 26th, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Carr was born on April 15th, 1931, to Lemuel Eugene Goodin and Molly Baugher Goodin.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her sons, Larry Carr (Vickie) and Jeff Carr (Candy); daughter Brenda Carr; grandchildren Christy Hubbard (John), Adam Carr, and Jeffrey Carr (Brooke); great-grandchildren Lily Hubbard, Drew Hubbard, Jayden Russell, Cullen Carr, Kadence Carr, and Kaylee Carr; and sisters Naomi Key, Betty King (William), and Marie McNatt (Billy).
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nick Carr; parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service for Mrs. Carr will be Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Brenden Getchel officiating. The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Adam Carr, Jeffrey Carr, Drew Hubbard, John Hubbard, Billy McNatt, and Lester Nelson.
Mrs. Carr loved God, her family, and her music. She was a member of “The Gold Age Band” for many years. The band traveled to nursing homes to provide entertainment for the residents. She loved to wear pretty hats and was known as “The Hat Lady”.
The family would like to thank Dr. and Mrs. Reddy and staff, Decatur Morgan Hospital, and Aveanna Hospice Care.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
