Kathleen J. Gardner, 80, of Huntsville, AL, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 2, 2017. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine A. Schmaus Lunz and Joseph J. Lunz, and her her loving husband, Richard J. Gardner.

She is survived by her devoted children, Kimberly A. Gardner, Douglas D.  Gardner, and Pamela Gardner Gilbert (Dan); her loving grandchild, Kaitlin Gardner; and her two great-grandchildren, Kennedy Keating and Jameson Keating, who were the apples of her eye.

Kathleen was a Realtor in Huntsville for the past 37 years. Prior to real estate, Kathleen was a registered nurse for many years. She was also instrumental in starting and becoming President of the Pennsylvania Association of Retarded Children (Citizens) in Ford City, PA. Kathleen served in countless civic organizations as a member and president throughout her career. She had many hobbies and always excelled at them, including golf, bowling, ballroom dancing, darts, etc.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, October 5, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 6.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kathleen’s favorite charities: St. Jude’s, Children’s Miracle Network or the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh.
We are finding comfort in the fact that she is reunited with her husband and our father after 40 years of being apart.
