Katherine Marie Harrison – Obituary

Katherine Marie Harrison, age 84, of Huntsville, was born in Geneva, New York on May 10, 1928. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 5, 2013.

Marie served as a Rosie the Riveter during WWII and was retired from the Department of the Army Finance and Accounting at Redstone Arsenal. As a member of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, she held many offices. Among those, she was the first female USCG Auxiliary Flotilla Commander in the city of Huntsville. Marie was also a member of the Hi-Noon Toastmaster’s Club, where she won the 1993 Region VIII Humorous Speech Contest. One of her favorite interests was attending medical lectures.

Mrs. Harrison is preceded in death by her parents, Anne Louise and Forrest Deming and her grandson, Nicholas Harrison.

Mrs. Harrison is survived by her husband, John Ehrlich; her children, Sherri Mewbourne and husband David, Bill Harrison and wife PJ, and Bob Harrison and wife Judy; her grandchildren, Danyelle Sedlak and husband Robert, John David Mewbourne, Ben Harrison and wife Mandy, Jennifer Harrison, and Heather Amos; and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Sunday February 10, 2013 at 3 pm in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on that day from 2pm until 3pm at the funeral home.
