Our beloved Katherine “Kathy” Ellen Park Boyer, 80, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025.

Born on January 2, 1945, in San Francisco, California, to Edwin and Dorothy Park, Kathy grew up surrounded by a loving family. In 1965, she married the love of her life, Lynn Boyer III, and together they shared 60 years of adventures filled with love, laughter, and faith.

As a military family, they lived in California, Hawaii, North Carolina, and Virginia before making Huntsville their home. During Lynn’s deployments, Kathy often managed life as a single mom to their three children—two sons and a daughter. The daughter they joyfully adopted while stationed in Hawaii.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Dorothy Park; brother, Tom; parents-in-law, Barbara and Lynn Boyer Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Tim and Mike.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lynn Boyer III; children, Lynn IV (Beth), Chris (Mary), and Becky; cherished grandchildren, Alex (Rebecca), Kara, Ned, Matthew, Caroline, and Kate; and great-grandchildren, Iris and Leo. She also leaves behind her siblings, Janice, Janine, Ted (Luisa), and Ed (Geri); her in-laws, Elsa, Larry (Ann), and Matthew (Linda); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She would also insist on including her beloved chihuahuas, Chino and Sweet Thing, who stayed by her side until the very end.

Kathy’s greatest joy was her family. She never missed a game, concert, performance, or church event—often with her husband in tow. She was known by her grandchildren for her endless stash of Starburst candy that magically appeared from her purse, cozy crocheted blankets gifted to every grandchild and great-grandchild, perfect cherry pies, and Christmas cookie baking sessions that became treasured family traditions.

Her deep Catholic faith guided her throughout her life. She spent decades serving her church, including countless afternoons in the Adoration Chapel, always ready to pray for others—whether they asked or not.

Kathy’s bold and sometimes surprising remarks will be fondly remembered, always spoken with humor and love. Her vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and not soon forgotten.

The funeral mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Huntsville, Alabama on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00AM. The family will receive guests prior to the funeral mass beginning at 10:00 AM. After the service, all are invited for lunch at the Good Shepherd Parish Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF) in Kathy’s memory.
