Katherine-Whitworth-1457356826Katherine Hall Whitworth of Pulaski passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at St Thomas West in Nashville, TN. She was born in Pulaski, TN on December 19, 1922 and was 93 Years old.
Katherine’s career began at Genesco, where she worked in the personnel department for 20 years. She then joined her husband, William in founding the Whitworth Lumber Company, providing support and service to the growth of the business. After its sale in 1973, they turned their attention to farming till 2001.

Katherine was renowned for her hard work in every thing she touched. However, her true joy was in showing the love of Christ to others through her active ministry at the East Hill church of Christ. She was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies at Southern Tennessee Regional Hospital (formally Hillside), where she also served on the auxiliary board.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 8th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 9th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the funeral home with Jonathan Burns and Tom Holland officiating.
Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial suggestions are asked to go to the CW Hart Scholarship Fund of the Memphis School of Preaching.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Whitworth Jr., parents, Abe Lee and Fenton Kerr Hall, and brother, Abe (Bud) Hall.
She is survived by,
Daughter, Willa Whitworth (Ellis) Manchester of Brentwood, TN
Grandchildren, Will and Katelyn Manchester also of Brentwood, TN
Sister in Laws, Loretta Harris of Columbia, Betty Hastings, Faye Taylor, Julia Whitworth, Elaine Compton, all of Pulaski, Rebecca Holder of Lawrenceburg, and Beverly (Joe) Woodard of Lynnville.
Brother in Law, Troy Whitworth of Pulaski, TN.
Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Katherine Hall Whitworth.
