Katherine Donovan Lacy, (known by most people as Kay), died on Jan. 29, 2017, at the age of 99 while a resident of the Sylacauga Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sylacauga, Alabama.
She lived most of her adult life in Decatur and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was happily married to Bob Lacy until his death with cancer at age 50 in 1963. She continued to live in Decatur for many years afterwards surrounded by friends, and for part of those years, her son Stewart, his wife Susanne, and their children.
Blessed with a sunny disposition and resilient character, she had a keen sense of humor and demonstrated an amazing capacity for acceptance of whatever changes life brought.
During the last years of her life she received the invaluable ongoing and caring support of Stewart and Susanne. She is also survived by her son, Robert; daughters, Katherine and Jan; and grandchildren, Klare Bodycomb, Matt Lacy, Lacy Simkowitz, and Shaun McNeary.
