Karl Noah MoatesKarl Noah Moates, age 65 of Antioch, TN gained his angel wings Monday, December 6, 2021, surrounded by love and light. His final days were spent in the care of Life Care Center of Columbia, TN in conjunction with Avalon Hospice attending his needs.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette DeCosta Moates; maternal Grandmother Ethel Simmons Seifert and Grandfather Lawrence DeCosta; paternal grandfather Noah B. Moates and Grandmother Christine Witty Moates.

He is survived by daughter Andrea K. McDuffie (David), grandchildren Amaris and Josiah; father Edward B. Moates, sister Stephanie R. Grau (David), brother Craig B. Moates (Debbie) and long time love Daphne Turner.

Mr. Moates was born July 16, 1956 in Orlando, FL to Edward B. and Jeannette DeCosta Moates.

He had an interesting and varied life and working career as there were so many things that interested him. He served in the US Air Force. Afterwards, campus police at Middle Tennessee State University, Deputy Sheriff for Cannon County, a licensed paramedic. He owned a VA home for Veterans, he sold insurance, was an entrepreneur, a handy man (he could fix anything!) He was a bona fide Colonel and an auctioneer in Murfreesboro & Franklin.

He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in early 1990s and lived with the debilitating disease the best he could. Read his thoughts https://multiplesclerosis-journeyintohell.blogspot.com.
