Ms. Karen Watwood LathamMs. Karen Watwood Latham, age 62, of Arab, Al the Grassy Community, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 as a result of an automobile accident.
Ms. Latham was born on July 16, 1959 to Dossie Watwood and Augusta Riggins Watwood. She was married to Dennis Morton Latham, who preceded her in death (10/4/2020). Karen worked in the construction industry as a heavy equipment truck driver. Karen loved browsing thrift stores and yard sales. She loved gardening and canning home grown vegetables. She enjoyed nature and taking care of the land. Karen especially treasured her morning coffee while sitting on the back porch but not near as much as she enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
Cherishing memories of Karen are her children Dusty Latham (Leslie), Maria Venable (Wayne), Amy Howard (Greg), Bridgett Latham, and step-daughter Tracy Banes (Terry). Also treasuring memories of Karen are her siblings, Larry Watwood (Judy), Benny Watwood (Cindy), Willie Watwood (Linda), Jean Martin, Becky Stover, and Patsy Dillard, 14 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren
Ms. Latham is at last reunited with her husband, Dennis M. Latham; parents, Dossie and Augusta Watwood, brother, Hughal Watwood; and sister, Diane Whisenant.
A visitation will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Arab, Alabama on Sunday, June 5, 2022 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be Monday, June 6, 2022 at Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church in Arab, Al Cullman County. Ms. Latham will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service starts at 11:00 a.m.
Interment is to follow services immediately at the Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Austin Moore, Brandon Howard, Nicholas Howard, Johnathon Howard, Adam Watwood and Justin Latham.
