Karen Marian Jacobs Profile Photo Karen Marian Jacobs of Meridianville, Alabama went to be with our Lord while surrounded by family in her home. She was blessed to have all of her sisters come and visit during the Easter weekend. She was 63 and a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Born in Dearborn, Michigan she lived in Louisville, Kentucky and later Alexandria, Virginia where she graduated from Mount Vernon High School. She attended Radford University and later The University of Alabama where she met her husband. After getting her Masters from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, she joined Tecolote Research and worked as a financial analyst with the Missile Defense Agency in Targets and Countermeasures.

Throughout her life, she was known for her caring nature and her ability to make everyone feel like a friend. Karen adored all animals including several family dogs and has always had a love of the ocean. She was able to realize her dream of living in the Caribbean if only for a short time. She was a child of God and a faithful servant. She provided companionship to hospice patients and volunteered at the CARE center in New Hope, Alabama, as well as supporting many church activities. She loved her family and raised three beautiful daughters who are raising families of their own. She was adored by her grandchildren who called her Nana.

Karen was predeceased by her mother, Jean A. Sargent. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, William (Bill) Jacobs; her three daughters, Jennifer Pittenger with husband Derek Pittenger, Rachel Stickler with husband Andrew Stickler, and Angel Jacobs with fiancé Eli Mathew; her grandchildren Ronin Pittenger, Tamzin Pittenger, Xander Stickler, and Willow Stickler; Her father Charles Sargent, her three sisters, Sally Bond, Diane Servas, and Kathy Koehler along with their husbands, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life and will share details here soon.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve.
