Karen Annette York, 74, of Decatur, Al., passed peacefully away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She leaves behind her beloved husband Bob York; dear daughter Lacinda Carrinton; stepson Nowell York; sister Jackie Panzer; granddaughters Victoria Carrinton, Samantha York and Sophia York; many nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Florence Wikoff, and brothers Richard, William and Dudley.
Karen lit up a room with her joyous presence and enjoyed deep and lasting friendships with everyone she knew. After a long career in retail management and consulting, Karen, along with husband Bob, retired to Decatur, Al to enjoy friends and family. Karen treasured her time at the Burningtree Country Club, joining friends in their many activities and clubs. She was deeply committed to her bible study and was a devoted member of Moulton’s Victory Baptist Church.
To honor her memory, we invite anyone who knew and loved Karen to a celebration of her life to be held at the Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00pm. Private funeral to be held in Karen’s hometown of Decatur, Illinois.
