JW Green joined his Lord and Savior at the age of 80 on February 12, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Moulton Memory Gardens.
JW was born in Gadsden and moved to Decatur in 1963. He was retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 48. JW was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sally Green; his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Green; daughter, Lisa Green; brother, Gene Green; and sister, Louise Gault.
He is survived by his son, Steve Green (Dorothy) of Florence; daughter, Donna Green of Decatur; friend and sweetie, Josie Parker of Decatur; three grandchildren, Jeff Green (friend, Shannon Eastham) of Nashville, Tenn., John Walden (Alicia) of Harvest and Jessica Martin (Adam) of Charlotte, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Regan Beavers, Maggie Claire Martin and Greyson Martin; and brother, Johnny Green (Faye) of Gadsden.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Mcain, Chris Jackson, James Reed, Daniel Aycock, Jerry Smith and Josh Turner.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph School Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , American Cancer Research.
