Justin James McCarrellJustin James McCarrell, age 19, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 with his family present. Justin was a member of the Fort Payne High School Class of 2021 and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Justin taught us so many things in his short time. With his beautiful infectious smile, he taught us how to be happy because he took joy in simple things such as being with family, going to church, listening to music and a cold windy day. He taught us perseverance and strength as he fought battles in health and limitations that would crush many of us. He taught us that sometimes the greatest success is found in the tiniest of victories; and in this way, he was a true hero. The greatest thing that
Justin taught us was unconditional love. He taught us how to love without words, without limits, and without reason.

Justin is survived by his parents, David and Jeannie McCarrell; his twin sister, Jada McCarrell; grandmother, Norma Jean McCarrell; Aunt Kay Gallagher, Aunt “Bye Bye” Allison and Uncle Steve Schofield; Special Uncle and Aunts Doug and Becky Williams and Stacie Reed.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, William McCarrell and grandmother, Patsy Black.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jacob Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 12 until 2 p.m.

Special thanks to everyone who provided care for Justin throughout his life. The doctors and staff of Childrens Hospital of Alabama; Dr. Peter Strogov and staff; Bridgett Bohanon, Brandy Bridges and the entire staff of ABC Hospice; Carol Gunter and Veronica Welzel.
