Junior O. Cox age 80 of Athens, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Limestone Health Facility. Mr. Cox was born March 7, 1938 in Limestone County, AL to Joner Henry Cox and Joycie Aileen Moore Cox.
Services will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Greg Patrick and Mike Kelley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Evans Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Cox and James Earl Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Thacker Cox of Athens; two daughters, Karen Thomas of Cropwell, AL and Suzanne Johnson and husband, Floyd of Athens; four grandchildren, Brittney Crawford and husband, Tyler, Joanna Knapp and husband, William, Callie Johnson and Caleb Johnson; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Crawford, Annalise Crawford, Gabriel Knapp, Isabella Knapp and Alexander Knapp; brother, Max Cox; sister, Vickie White and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Johnson, Mike Thacker, Tyler Crawford, Bubba Hughes, Kobin Thacker and Gary Thacker. Honorary pallbearers will be William Knapp and Shon Cox.
