On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, Junie Faye Hunt Thacker aka Unis, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 70.
Junie Faye Hunt was born April 6th, 1952 in the hollers of Kentucky but lived her life in various places from Michigan, to Ohio, down to the gulf coast of Alabama and finally settling in Tennessee. She was a hard worker and worked 2-3 jobs at the same time throughout her adult life to provide for her family. As a God fearing woman, the Power of The Lord’s Word was instilled in her sons, Zenon and Adam, as she did her best to show them how to live their life for Him. Not only was she a loyal, tenderhearted, and trustworthy woman, but she was also the life of every party she ever attended; she was spunky, strong willed, funny, and she was a fighter, all the way til the end.
Junie Faye was a rebel as teen. She carried her ‘I’m doing life my way attitude’ with her until her last breath. As a young woman, her passion was poetry. She always dreamed of being published one day. Her poems are inspirational and heartfelt as they were written from her actual life experiences. As she got older, she turned her focus on her family. She dearly loved her big family which not only included her children and grandchildren but also her fur baby, sweet Baby Girl.
Junie was preceded in death by her father, Kenziebee Hunt; mother, Mary Burke Hunt; stepmother, Helen Hunt; two sisters, Esta and Delphia; and three brothers, Ellis, Luther, and Mallard. She is survived by her one and only fur baby, Baby Girl; her two children, Zenon (Kellie) and Adam; three sisters, Jewell (Rick), Girree and Alene; four granddaughters, Baileigh (Jarrod), Taylor (Garrett), Kennedy, and Campbell; one grandson Hayden; and many nieces and nephews.
Mawmaw, as all the kids called her, couldn’t wait for a great grandchild and she was quite vocal about it! Before she passed, she was blessed with the anticipation of the arrival of her first great grandchild, David Oliver Taylor.
A private memorial service will be held at an undisclosed time and place. Flowers and donations may be sent to 116 Paradise Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.
