A Celebration of the Life of Juliette Charlotte Anne Rattray, age 71, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016, 2:00 p.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Taylor Todd officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Rattray, who died Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at her residence, was born June 18, 1945, in Braco, Scotland, to Charles Alexander Gordon and Isabella Rennie Stevenson Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Julie dedicated her life to God, her family, and helping others. Her sweet and joyful spirit will always be remembered. She was, and is, loved by so many because of her kind and generous heart. Julie will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Thomas Rattray of Decatur; one daughter, Nicole Louise Harris & husband, David Wade Harris, of Decatur; and three grandchildren, Isabella Ray Harris, Elizabeth Sarah Anne Harris, and Payton Wade Harris, all of Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully selected the following organizations for memorial donations in Julie’s name: American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123; Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation, P. O. Box 2239, Decatur, AL 35609; or “Juliette’s Smile Foundation,” which was inspired by Julie’s caring nature. It is a non-profit entity designed to provide varied and as-needed assistance to children who have lost their parents to cancer. Donations to Juliette’s Smile Foundation may be made at either of the three Renasant Bank locations in Decatur, AL, or the GoFundMe account which will deposit directly into the account.
