Julia Sherrelle Lindsey Shipp – Obituary

Julia Sherrelle Lindsey Shipp, age 56, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Signature Healthcare after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Laura Belle and James Henry “Red” Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant, TN.

 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Brown, pastor of West Point Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Sherrelle was born on November 12, 1961 in Maury County and attended Maury County Public Schools. Before her incapacitating illness, she loved fishing, cooking, and listening to her favorite artist Luther Vandross. She loved watching her favorite television shows, “Walker Texas Ranger” and “Little House on the Prairie.” She was a cook at Southern Restaurant and Mallard’s Restaurant in Columbia.

 

She leaves behind to mourn her daughters: Julia Michelle (Vincent) Hill, Janice Elaine Shipp; son: Michael J. Shipp; granddaughters: Keaundra Lanae Polk, Kaliyah Janae McCoy, I’Zeonna Kechelle Hardin; great grandchild: Ke’Andre M. Davis; brothers: Billy Howard (Edith) Lindsey, Mark Wayne (Wanda) Lindsey, James Michael Lindsey; sisters: Barbara Jean Lindsey-Whiteman, Anna Sue (Ricky Webster) Davison, Gloria LaVerne Lindsey, Pamela Armstrong; uncle: James Porter; aunts: Floridia B. Davis, Sarah Bullock, Beverly Jean Porter, Dorothy Jean Porter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Paul Roland Lindsey, Timothy D. Lindsey, Noverlene Neal, and James Ernest Lindsey.

 

Nephews will serve as pallbearers, and nieces will serve as flower girls.

 

The family wishes to sincerely thank Signature Healthcare and their devoted staff, Caris Hospice, and Dr. Gibran Naddy for their loving professional care.
