Julia Blalock Buffler – Obituary

juliaMrs. Julia Blalock Buffler, 102, passed away on November 02, 2015 at her residence. She was a native of Lauderdale County and retired from First National Bank with 25 years of service. She attended Mars Hill Church of Christ her entire life, AWO at Mars Hill Bible School and United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Visitation for Mrs. Buffler will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Mars Hill Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. with Jack Wilhelm, Kenneth Davis and Chris Moran officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Buffler was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. Buffler; brothers, Howard Lee and James Allen Blalock.

Survivors include, her sister, Mary Hazel Jones; sister-in-law, Angela McIngvale; nephews, Mack Blalock, John Buffler, Richard Eckl, Mark Buffler, James and Ralph McIngvale; nieces, Patsy Harris, Julia Williams, Betty Blevins, Mary Howe, Mildred Mitchell, Barbara Buffler, Francis Holden, Carolyn Eck, Julia Goodrich, Mary Lynn Bryant, Debra McPretridge, Julia Stout, Mary Dunson and Angela Jones; numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Price Harrison, Hudson Harrison, Jason Yarbrough, Lee Glenn, David Clemmons, Joey Eckl and John Passarrelli.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy McAdams, Louis McAdams, Richard Eckl, Lawrence Alexander, Bill Batson and David Willingham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mars Hill Bible School, North Alabama Christian Children’s Home or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all caregivers for their loving care and support.
