Funeral service for Julia Ann Smith, 68, will be Friday, May 26, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Roundtop Church with Rev. Travis Badger and Rev. Pearl Jenkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Her body will lie in state at the Church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Roundtop Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith died on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at her residence. She was born July 6, 1948, in Morgan County to Thurman Smith and Opal Johnson Smith. Mrs. Smith was a member of the MCHS Class of 1966 and was a majorette. She was a former member of the Farmer’s Federation Board and was employed as an Administrator for the Morgan County Commission in their NRCS Office. She was involved in countless activities involving farmer’s and she greatly enjoyed her work.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley Smith, Sr., her father: Thurman Smith, her mother-in-law: Lillice Smith and father-in-law: Tip Smith.
