Judy Watkins Derryberry – Obituary

Mrs. Judy Watkins Derryberry, age 69, of Lewisburg, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, January, 7, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.

Judy was born on December 4, 1946 in Beattyville, Kentucky to Sam and Dessie Trent Watkins. She was married to the love of her life, Troy Derryberry for twenty-two years. She had worked for Johnson Controls in Lewisburg for several years. Judy enjoyed dancing and riding horses. She fought a lengthy battle for fifteen years with Parkinson’s disease. She was a strong woman who didn’t give up. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Derryberry is survived by her husband: Troy Derryberry of Lewisburg, Tennessee; children: Ivan Martin, Jimmy Martin and Pamela (Jim) Blanchfield; step-daughters: Kirsten Smith and Wendy Derryberry; numerous grandchildren; 5 brothers and 1 sister. She was preceded in death by her parents: Sam Watkins and Dessie Trent Watkins; sister: Frankie Waters and 2 brothers.

The family will celebrate Judy’s life with a private graveside service inurnment in Kentucky at a later date.
