Judy Pruett Patton, 74, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, at her home. Family will be receiving friends Monday, December 2, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 11 a.m., in the Kilgore-Green Funeral Home Chapel, burial at Walker Memory Gardens. David Byrd will officiate.
Judy was born in Rural Cullman, AL on August 14, 1945. She attended Fairview School and then moved to Jasper in 1954. She began the 4th grade at Farmstead School and went on to Walker High School. She attended Walker College, where she was a cheerleader and then on to Auburn. Judy’s first job was with Dr. Buddy Thorne as a Hygienist. She also was a part of Pruett Ford Tractor as a bookkeeper. In 1981, she married Pat Patton and they began Pat’s Archery for many years, they ran the business together. In 2012, they sold Pat’s and the retired. During retirement, Judy and Pat traveled across country twice. Once for their Sailor’s homecoming and a year later for the birth of their great granddaughter. Judy loved her family, hunting, especially turkey hunting, growing flowers, reading her kindle, Facebooking and spending time at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, K.T. and Lois Pruett; brother, Don Pruett; and sister, Patricia Mitchell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Pat Patton; daughter Missy Lay (Paul); grandchildren, Micah Robbins (Hanna), Patrick Lay, Justin Lay, Jamin Lay; great granddaughter, McKenna Robbins; sister, Ginger Hughes (Steve) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
