Judy Hughes Profile Photo Judy Hughes, a beloved member of the community and the co-owner of Specialty Machining LLC, passed away on July 1, 2024, at her home in Corinth, MS. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at the visitation services scheduled at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Corinth on Friday, July 5th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, July 6th from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens. She was a respected individual known for her dedication to her church, family, and business. Judy was born on June 3, 1943, in Corinth, MS, to Larry Hill Essary and Ruby Louella Borden Essary. She had a deep love for her family, which included her husband of 54 years, Ray Hughes; sons, Jeff Patterson (Mary) and Clayton Ray Hughes (Kim); daughter, Julia Patterson; her 4 grandchildren, DeLauren Sweeney (D.J.), Heather Nicole Patterson, Allie Rae Hughes Harbor (Joe), Hunter Clayton Hughes (Lakelyn Parker), as well as great-grandchildren Titus Sweeney and Ronin Sweeney; sister-in-law, Pat Essary; brothers-in-law, Wayne Hindman and James Hardin, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Judy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Larry Hill Essary; mother, Ruby Louella Borden Essary and her siblings, James Larry Essary (Norma), Bobby Eugene Essary, Martin Ray Essary, Betty Joan Bullard, Elsie Josephine Hindman, and Mary Cosette Hardin.

A woman of many talents and interests, Judy excelled not only in her career but also in various hobbies. She enjoyed gardening, canning, playing softball and basketball, sewing, singing gospel music, bowling on Thursday mornings with the Coffee League and even participated in arm-wrestling tournaments where she proudly became the MS State Armwrestling Champion. Furthermore, she found joy in traveling and spending time with loved ones. Judy’s commitment to her faith was unwavering as she always prioritized church activities followed by quality time with her family. Judy’s memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her warm spirit and genuine care. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family for Mrs. Judy Hughes.
